Filtering the Gradebook
The Project STEM Gradebook gives you several options to filter out different types of information. These filters are cumulative: for instance, you have the ability to apply a "Sections" filter and a "Modules" filter at the same time! To get started, enter your Gradebook by clicking on "Grades" in the left-hand menu of your course.
Filtering By Section
Click the "View" menu at the top left of the Gradebook.
Mouseover the "Filters" submenu, then click "Sections" in the pop-out menu.
A new dropdown filter menu will appear at the top right of the page. Click the dropdown menu and select the section you wish to view.
Any students in a different subsection will no longer be visible in the Gradebook!
You can switch between sections by repeating Step 3 above, or remove the filter by going back into the View menu and un-checking "Sections" in the Filter pop-out menu.
Note: Click here to learn how to assign different students to separate sections.
Filtering by Module
Click the "View" menu at the top left of the Gradebook.
Mouseover the "Filters" submenu, then click "Modules" in the pop-out menu.
A new dropdown filter menu will appear at the top right of the page. Click the dropdown menu and select the module you wish to view.
Any grades from other modules will no longer be visible in the Gradebook!
Filtering by Assignment Group
Click the "View" menu at the top left of the Gradebook.
Mouseover the "Filters" submenu, then click "Assignment Groups" in the pop-out menu.
A new dropdown filter menu will appear at the top right of the page. Click the dropdown menu and select the assignment group you wish to view.
Any grades from other assignment groups will no longer be visible in the Gradebook! (For more information about assignment groups, see this page on grading weights.)
Arranging the Gradebook Columns
In addition to filtering out information you don't need, you can also arrange Gradebook columns in several ways. To do so, simply click the "View" menu at the top left of your Gradebook page, mouseover the "Arrange" submenu, and choose the option for arranging the columns that suits your needs!
Please note: "Default" will arrange your columns into order based on Assignment Groups. For more information about Assignment Groups, please see this page on grading weights.
Sorting the Gradebook Columns
Lastly, you can sort Gradebook columns according to a variety of criteria based on the data available in the column you've selected. To see your options, mouseover a column heading to reveal a three-dot menu on the right-hand side of the heading, then click on that menu and mouseover the "Sort" submenu as shown below.
